Kundalini Training

So you want to awaken your energy?

Kundalini has grown in popularity recently, a simple google search can take you down hundreds of rabbit roles and different interpretations of what Kundalini is, and how to ‘awaken’ it. So here’s our tried and true interpretation and methods.

What is Kundalini?

The term derives from the Sanskrit word kundal, which translates to “coiled energy.” This is a broad collective term for yogic (physical, mental and spiritual discipline) and tantric (esoteric practice) ‘inner yoga’ methods of establishing the energetic circuitry of the mind-body system and then moving energy through it.

How is it cultivated?

Many teachers and schools will outline a rigorous curriculum of challenging breath exercises coupled with singing and asanas (body postures). However, you won’t find us crooning whilst tying ourselves into pretzels to achieve a Kundalini awakening. We keep it relaxed and simple.

The Spirit Intermediary approach teaches you how to cultivate this intrinsic Kundalini vitality and circulate it along the appropriate channels also known as nadis. This is done through simple breath work, visualisations and sounds.

In this method you will learn to establish, clear and activate energy centers often known as chakras – which in neuroscience is where we have nerve and neuroendocrine clusters in our body. It is here that we bridge the mind-body gap that people often feel disconnected from.

You will begin to feel heat, pulsing, heaviness in the areas you activate.

What are the benefits?

Kundalini practice is like neural self-hacking!

Naturally, undergoing the kundalini transformation process leads to a free flow of vitality, an increase of mind-body, spirit and energetic awareness. This can open us up to connecting to divine forces and the energies around us.

Kundalini work can be very intense and greatly transformative, involving various deep state theta brainwave meditations and experiences.

Have you heard Kundalini is dangerous?

Due to these often intense experiences, many who have had spontaneous Kundalini awakenings or unsupervised awakening attempts have found it to be distressing or difficult to control. In an unprepared body/mind, Kundalini energy can be like pumping a large voltage through an unprepared system - a fuse could go.

At Spirit Intermediary we train safely and holistically. Our trainers are experienced, able to manage potential risks for safe practice and able to troubleshoot any issues during this work. Our trainers will also utilise acupressure and other energy work to remove blocks and support the transformation.

This training suits people who have spontaneous kundalini experiences and also those who’ve never experienced anything spiritual at all (as we work from where you are at and tailor the training to your needs). We encourage people starting from scratch and help them develop this conductivity.
